About the Project
Jam Yesterday Jam Tomorrow is a Heritage Lottery Funded community project that will explore the important but
forgotten heritage of the Twickenham and Hampton market Garden industry. Through oral histories, archive research and hands-on activities, people of all ages will be able to learn about and decide on ways to restore the lost plant heritage to sites throughout the area.
The participation of volunteers will help to preserve the history and spread knowledge about market gardens so that the ingenious and hard-working growers are remembered, and our traditional fruits and vegetables are once again enjoyed.
